Is Akshay Kumar’s Next ‘Inspired’ By Michael Douglas’s '90s Cult Hit?
No, we are not talking about Basic Instinct. But buzz is Akshay Kumar starrer Crack has a lot in common with Michael Douglas’s Falling Down
Bollywood has never shied away from getting inspiration
from Hollywood films. Be it official remakes or just a borrowed plot, we have
seen many firangi stories on our desi screens.
And it looks like Akshay Kumar starrer Crack too has one
too many similarities with a Hollywood film. Falling Down is a cult hit
starring Michael Douglas who plays William 'D-Fens' Foster, an unemployed and
divorced engineer whose downward spiral includes random criminal acts.
The film released in 1993 and received critical acclaim.
And now Bollywood seems to have woken up to its potential.
After the success of Special 26 and Baby, Akshay Kumar
announced his next film with director Neeraj Pandey, with the unusual title
Crack.
Last year, on Independence Day Akshay Kumar revealed the
poster of Crack and the image garnered a lot of attention. We snooped around
and look what we found.

A source told us that the similarities do not end there.
The protagonist to be played by Akshay is once again an angsty middle-class man
who decides to break the law in frustration.
The poster and the outline of Akshay Kumar's Crack is
similar to Michael Douglas’s Falling Down.
Akshay’s line-up for 2017 is an eclectic bunch, Toilet –
Ek Prem Katha, 2.0, PadMan.
We had earlier told you that Crack was pushed to 2018
to avoid a clash with Shah Rukh Khan.
Akshay was the first one to claim Independence Day 2017
for his film but with Shah Rukh Khan releasing his next with Imtiaz Ali in the
same slot, Khiladi Kumar has postponed Crack.
